About Your Therapist

I would like to tell you a little about myself.  I received my Bachelor's degree from the University of Florida in 1978, and my Master's Degree from Florida State University.


I am a native Floridian and a resident of Central Florida for over 40 years.  I have been married to the same man since I was twenty-one years old. I have one married adult daughter and two adorable grandchildren.


Working in a variety of community-based and outpatient (office) settings, I gained experience counseling children, adolescents, and adults.  I have provided counseling services in local hospital psychiatric units, homeless shelters, adult residential treatment programs, adult living facilities, schools, daycare centers, and outpatient offices.  I was the host of an internet radio talk show "Ask Your Therapist."  I am a co-author of a book.


I have been the owner/therapist of Better Day Counseling, a private counseling practice in Altamonte Springs, since December 2000.  I am on the insurance panels of the largest insurance companies, as well as accepting private pay clients.


I adore human beings and enjoy helping individuals of all ages, from toddlers to seniors.  It is my calling as a results-oriented therapist to help individuals, couples, and families break old patterns and make positive and lasting changes in their lives.

Better Day  Counseling

Appointments Available:


Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturdays 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.


Insurance:


Major insurance accepted includes Aetna, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, and United (Optum).  A number of Employee Assistance Programs are accepted.


Payment:


Certainly, if you are fortunate enough to have insurance, you are responsible for your deductible (if you have one), your copay, and/or your co-insurance.  


If you do not have insurance, I charge what is average for therapists to charge in this area. 


Payment is due at the time of service.  I accept cash, Visa, Master Card, AmEx, and Discover. 


There is a standard requirement to give 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule appointments.  There is a late cancellation fee and a no-show fee.  Please be considerate.

Better Day Counseling is located about one mile from I-4, near the intersection of State Roads 434 and 436.  Convenient parking is right outside of the office.
